Hall Information

Moorland and District Village Hall sits in the heart of the village, and also serves the adjoining village of Fordgate and the surrounding area. The Hall is a valuable asset for the community and exists to serve that community. With this in mind, the Committee is keen that it should be used to its fullest potential.

The Hall hosts a number of regular village groups, including pilates, strength and Stretch (formally known as eccentrics), art class, badminton and a weekly coffee morning. We are also fortunate to have a dynamic and motivated Committee who are dedicated to furthering the stated aim (as per the constitution) of fostering community development. As such we are enjoying organising an ambitious line-up of everts for all to enjoy! Including the visit of a food van on the last Friday of the month. Please see the calendar of special events for further details and we look forward to hopefully welcoming you soon.

Hire charges

The Hall is available for private hire at the rate of £15 p/h with a reduced rate of £10p/h for residents of Moorland and Fordgate. It further includes the use of the kitchen and all the kitchen facilities (with no extra charge), cutlery, crockery etc., tables, chairs and the AV equipment.A reduced rate is available for regular users.

Governance

The Hall is vested in the Official Custodian for Charities, an appointment of the Charity Commission, and managed by nine trustees. They are supported on the management committee by representatives from North Petherton Town Council, The Parochial Church Council and the Moor Garden Club.

It is the management trustees, ‘the committee’, who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the Hall.
